Sean Shriver is Trial Counsel at Compass Law Group, specializing in catastrophic injury and sexual abuse cases. She is known for providing fearless and trauma-informed advocacy to survivors of catastrophic injury and sexual violence. 
 

Sean began her career in law as a trial attorney at a personal injury firm in Charleston where she devoted the majority of her practice to the litigation of sexual assault and abuse cases against a number of federal agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Prisons. In federal courts across the county, Sean litigated constitutional tort cases involving the excessive use of force by law enforcement, medical malpractice in correctional settings, wrongful death, and personal injury cases involving both the misconduct of police and constitutionally deficient conditions in state and federal prisons. Prior to joining Compass, Sean worked as a trial attorney at the nation’s largest personal injury firm, advising trial teams in all aspects of litigation planning and strategy.

Sean holds a Doctorate in Social Sciences from Carleton University (Summa cum laude) and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa. She has published numerous academic works, including nearly twenty peer-reviewed journal articles and a full-length book (Washington University Press) on the use of novel weapons technologies by police in the United States and the development and use of chemical weapons by the U.S. Department of Defense during the Cold War.
